A little something I thought about recently, and didn't think could be made into a deviation. Anyways, as we all know, gas prices have shot up higher than during Katrina, and we all hope they go down. But there is salvation for car buyers with a guaranteed $2.99 to the gallon for the next (three?) years. I thought about this a little, and it all seemed only a little fishy. Skyrocketing gas prices... and low(er) prices for car buyers. Both in similar markets; gas consumers and gas suppliers... starting to sound fishy to you? I think that judging from how the gas prices have so suddenly jumped, that Chevy, Jeep, and Dodge have *ahem* "joined forces" with all the major gas suppliers, in a mutualisitic deal. With gas prices so high, people need to be able to buy low priced gas. So the three above stated made it so when you buy one of many of their vehicles, you can get lower priced gas. The gas department gets more money from the people who don't buy cars, and still get some more money from the people who do, AND the car dealerships sell more cars. Now the other side of my title being Karma, is from on the other side of the argument (I try to see to all sides in many cases). Now suppose that car dealerships have no biddings in the acts of gas prices, but were able to swing a deal with them to increase their sales, why are gas prices so high then? Again, as you all know, we have been in a war with a couple countries in the Middle East for a while now. The USA also buys gas from many countries, because we use up more gas than we can produce here in America. And in the Middle East is the largest part of the USSR, the world's largest gas/petroleum suppliers. Is the reason that gas is so high now-a-days because we have angered the Middle East with the war, or is it because the war has drafted many of the workers who help "extract" the precious black gold? Suppose, like the US, the Middle East needs more soldiers to fight their side of the war, and they already got every person willing to fight in the war. How do they get more people to fight for their country? They get every able bodied person they can get their hands on. That includes the construction workers, some of the businessmen, and the petrol miners. With a new shortage of people to manufacture petrol for international sale, it becomes harder to obtain, and therefore more expensive, everywhere they sell to. And on the last side of the debate, what if the reason is actually neither? Sweden's gas prices are up to American $9 a gallon, but they are reducing their addiction to gas with Hydrogen, so shouldn't their gas prices at least stop going up by now? Could the same happen to us in America? Does the good old US of A be able to reverse this addiction to a more eco-friendly and more available energy source? Could we finally be able to fuel ourselves? Or could the powerful American people be doomed to much more solitary lives among their selves? Could a modern day town become more like a medieval city with 20 miles being a far way to travel, when it used to be $3 and some good music on the radio? ($3 referring to $3 to the gallon, and 20 miles referring to just under the national mpg average of about 22 to 24 mpg now)
And with that note, I conclude to give some time to think about this problem.
